TRANQUILITY GARDEN HOLY TRINITY CHURCH

In April 2021 the church entered a competition entitled Good News with a caption, Peace after the Storm, outlining ideas to build a garden at the rear of the church for rest, reflection and education and to commemorate lives lost during the Covid pandemic of 2022.

The church won Wales Finalist in the competition with a prize of £1500 towards the project and with a further Gwynedd Council Community Grant of £3900 via the Welsh Churches Fund the garden began to take shape in March 2022.

North Wales Wildlife Trust donated £1300 towards pollinating plants and a wheelchair access pathway and the garden was completed with inscribed benches and a picnic table and wheelchair accessible raised beds and an open day on 13th August.Further plans for a childrens Noah’s Ark activity area for conservation education with a resident biologist who has also surveyed the Victorian Graveyard and produced posters of the flora, fauna discovered there. The area is being managed with the advice of Caring for God’s Acre organisation. Other supporter organisations include Ramblers Cymru, Community Payback Scheme. An official open day is being planned for September for additional publicity and to advice organisations, societies and other public bodies and supporters of the project. The garden was featured on ITV Evening News in March and also on Radio 4 Gardeners Question time in May.

ARCH NOA BOOK BABIES PROJECT 2021

The church has had a bi lingual Parent, Baby and Toddler group weekly for 10 years and this has developed into Saturday Club for older siblings and school aged children. In 2021 and with support of Mantell Gwynedd Voluntary Services Organisation the church obtained a grant to employ a storyteller who along with the pre school aged children and parents produced a book with games and number and colour recognition to help those children who had not had any social access for two years to interact and develop language and creative skills. This was the third opportunity to take advantage of the creative grants available both from Gwynedd Council Arts Department and Mantell Gwynedd. A First Aid for Paediatrics is planned for 4th October delivered by St Johns Ambulance Community Education Department. A health visitor attends regularly the group.
